Divorce App – A Great Tool For Spouses Who Can Work Together

We wanted to share this interesting piece posted recently on The Guardian (read it here) about the divorce app amicable that “lets you break up without breaking the bank”. This app is a great option for separating spouses so long as there is no significant power imbalance between them and both spouses are fully aware of their family law rights and obligations. Tools likeamicable are a good way for spouses to start thinking about what they really want on separation, rather than taking positions based on emotions and hurt feelings.

Collaborative Divorce Law is another approach that provides you with the support of a lawyer to guide you through the process of separation or divorce, without having to go to court (which is when legal fees can start to sky-rocket). To learn more about Collaborative Divorce, click here.

After being a family lawyer for over 13 years, coupled with my own personal experience with divorce, I have come to understand the difficult transition that comes with the end of a relationship. This experience has put me in the unique position of being able to provide clients with a clear picture of what is to come and how to plan for it. As well as provide clients with guidance and education on how to deal with the day-to-day realities of a separation.
